Photographing People in an Unobtrusive, Fine Art Style
My dream career began in 2002 with my first paid job, photographing Darrell Fox while he spoke about his insprirational brother during the annual Terry Fox Run. I was a green photographer, and was so nervous, I hardly slept the night before! I remember anxiously waiting at the film lab (yes...I began using film!!) for the proofs to be printed, hoping I didn't make any technical mistakes. The photographs not only turned out, but were actually good! I was hooked.
Many of my event and portrait clients comment on my unobtrusive photography style. They say they quickly became at ease in their photo session and often weren't aware of my presence during their special event. By being unobtrusive, it allows my subjects to be who they are without posing for the camera like a "selfie". It creates candid, natural, photojournalistic memories.
I love fine arts and studied at Mount Allison University. I also received a Professional Photography Diploma with Honours from WAP (Western Academy of Photography). A fine art education combined with the technical skills gives my photographs excellent composition with professional assurance. My clients get their fine art shots every time!
I'd love to hear from you!
